The ex-BBN housemate who was disqualified on Sunday, March 6, 2017, for sexually harassing Tboss, while she slept, has taken to Facebook to tender his apology.
Kemen's post read:
"My name is Ekemini Ekerette, popularly known as Kemen (@Kemen_Fitness) one of the Big Brother Naija 2017 Housemate. I am a Fitness Trainer and a model before joining the Big Brother house.
"I hereby tender my sincere apologies to TBoss and ask for her forgiveness as well as all the women in Africa that I hurt from the circumstances surrounding my disqualification from the Big Brother Naija house recently.
"I knew that everybody was playing the game in the house at the same time competing for the prize. I realized that I overplayed my game which brought about my disqualification.
"As you all know, I have my fitness outfit, where I train a lot of people both men and women. There has been no case or reports of such acts from me. I regret the turn of play while trying to compete for the prize.
"I apologize to TBoss' family, fans, and friends for hurting their perception. I also use this medium to apologize to all women being the International Women's Day and the entire crew of Big Brother Nigeria, including my fans and family. #BBNaija #JustFforYou #PayPorte."

‘I’m proud to be a Nigerian’, Lai declares after visiting NLNG

Lai Mohammed, minister of information and culture, says he is proud to be a Nigerian.

The minister said this after a facility tour of the plant of the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) Limited on Bonny Island, Rivers state.

He described the NLNG as a shining example of the Nigerian success story in management and technical competence.

“Until I came here I did not know that Nigeria has a humongous asset as the NLNG. I have been reading about NLNG but coming here and having a firsthand experience and information, the briefing and the tour of the place have actually changed my mind completely about the NLNG,” he said in a statement issued by Segun Adeyemi, his media aide, on Wednesday.

“I am inspired, excited and proud to be a Nigerian. This probably is the best success story of this country and my pride largely derives from the fact that this company is run by Nigerians. The management entirely represents Nigeria and when you look at the complexity of the operation, I’m also very proud that this is coming from Nigeria.”

Mohammed said the NLNG was the incubator for the growth of the nation’s oil and gas industry, and that if adequately encouraged, the company would replicate in Nigeria the kind of transformation that Qatar did with its gas reserves.

He urged the media to continue to project the NLNG positively to ensure that the vision of the company is realised.

In his remarks, Tony Attah, managing director of the NLNG, said the time had come for Nigeria to unleash its gas potential and power the economy, especially as the country has the ninth largest gas reservoir in the world with a proven 187 trillion cubic feet.

Attah said in order to realise the dream, the NLNG was embarking on the ambitious project for the construction of trains seven and eight, which would attract $25 billion foreign direct investment and the creation of 18,000 jobs in the construction phase alone.

“It’s time for gas and it’s time for Nigeria and we believe this is possible. We see that opportunity from trains seven and eight unleashing the gas potential. We see deliberate opportunities of the country going after the 600TcF of gas (reserve).  In building trains seven and eight, potential investment that will be coming is about $25 billion,” he said.

Attah said the country, through the NLNG, had succeeded in reducing gas flaring from 65 percent to 20 percent, and that it would continue to diversify the energy resources and monetise gas in the country.

According to him, the NLNG has so far paid $5.5 billion in taxes and $15 billion in dividends to the federal government and has spent $13 billion on the purchase of gas to process into liquefied form.

Man arrested for raping 3-year-old stepdaughter

Police on Wednesday in Niger arrested a 45-year-old-man, over alleged rape of his three-year-old stepdaughter.
The suspect was arrested in Kundu, a village in Rafi Local Government Area of the state.
Abdullahi Mayaki, Police Inspector attached to the state Child Rights Protection Agency, said that the mother of the girl, Malama Fatima Bawa, reported the matter to the agency.
He said that the suspect, however, denied the allegation during investigation, claiming that he only intervened whenever his wife beat the girl.
But Bawa had told the agency that she caught her husband sexually abusing her daughter after he approached her for sex at night and she refused him.
“My husband likes sex too much, so I chased him out of the room in the night and locked the door.
“It was after I chased him out that I heard my daughter, who was sleeping in the parlour, crying.
“I quickly ran to her only to see my husband abusing my daughter sexually.
“I am a breast feeding mother and I spend the whole of my day taking care of the children, yet my husband does not allow me to rest,” she told the agency in her statement.
Bawa alleged that she saw blood stained and semen on the girl’s body and informed her brother in-laws wife about the incident who advised her to take the girl to the hospital.
The Director-General of the agency, Hajiya Mariam Kolo, said that the victim would be treated in the hospital.
Kolo also said that the suspect would be charge to court in accordance with Section 18 of the Child Rights Law.
The Director-General described the act as ‘ungodly’, saying that the state government would no longer condone any form of violence against children and women.

ECOWAS court dismisses FG's suit against Nnamdi Kanu

The ECOWAS court sitting in Abuja, has reportedly dismissed the application filed by the federal government asking that the suit filed by the Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) be quashed.

The action by the court is reported to have caused jubilation among members of IPOB and those sympathetic to its plight.

Channels Television reports that Kanu’s suit seeks the court to grant him an unconditional release from detention as well as damages to the tune of $800 million.

The federal government had asked the court to dismiss the case because it is a subject matter before the Federal High Court and the appeal court.

The government said as a result, Kanu’s application constitutes an abuse of court process.

The presiding judge, Micah Wright-Williams, dismissed the application of the government for lacking in merit. The court said it has the jurisdiction to hear cases of infringement of human rights.

Boko Haram To Attack Abuja Hotels

The Nigerian Army has issued security alert on hotels in the Federal Capital Territory (Abuja).

The army also said it has put new security measures in place to protect hotels and other national infrastructures and assets which are usually targets of terrorists in the Abuja.
The security cordon is on the heels of an intelligence report which reportedly revealed a fresh plan by Boko-Haram to launch another attack on the nation’s capital.
Chief Of Army Staff(COAS), Lieutenant-General Tukur Buratai made this known when he received Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Valentine Ozigbo, in his office, yesterday.
Buratai said the new security arrangement came about given high profile visitors, including foreign Heads of State and other very important personalities who usually lodge at the hotel.
He said hotels like Transcorp and other five stars hotels, as well as other national assets, are usually easy targets of terrorist because of crowds who troop to such places on a daily basis.
Buratai said the army is working in conjunction with other security agencies in the FCT round the clock to ensure Boko Haram does not have easy access into the nation’s capital,.
He added that aside deploying soldiers to keep security at such places, the army also has plain clothes intelligence officers deployed there to ensure safety and security and commended the Transcorp delegation for the visit and assured them of continuous protection of the army at all times.
In his response, Ozigbo said he was at the army headquarters to brief Buratai on steps taken by the management to secure the hotel.
He commended the army for responding promptly to issues concerning Transcorp and called for collaboration between the two organisations.
Meanwhile ,the Public Complaint Commission(PCC), has appealed to the army to have a rethink over the recent dismissal of 524 soldiers from the service.
Chief Commissioner of PCC, Chief Emanuel Ogbile, who made the appeal during a courtesy visit to Buratai said given the age bracket of the dismissed soldiers, their dismissal could mean bad omen for the country.
considering what it is passing through in the hands of boko haram and other criminal groups terrorizing the country.
Ogbile, who said the dismissed soldiers had staged a peaceful protest to the CCB, office in Abuja, asking the CCB, to plead with the army authorities to reinstate them back into the service, urged Buratai, to use his good office to revisit their cases with a view to resolve it, and if necessary reinstate them “in the best interest of the Nigerian army and the country”.
He said given the involvement of the army in fighting the counterinsurgency war and other security challenges, the country cannot afford to allow another kind of terror.
Buratai, in his response, while noting that the soldiers were dismissed from service having committed one offense or the other, said “we are going to revisit their case and look at each case at his own merit with a view to resolve them in the best interest of the army and the nation.
The army chief who described the number as huge, said their dismissal has greatly affected operations of the army saying “524, is almost a battalion. We felt the impact of their dismissal but I can assure you we will look into it, which we have already started”,

Arsene Wenger to leave Arsenal

Arsene Wenger has informally told his Arsenal stars that he's leaving the club, according to reports.

Italian news outlet SNAI sport say the Frenchman has informed his stars that he'll be quitting the north Londoners.

However, Arsenal supremo Stan Kroenke is reportedly still a huge fan on Wenger and might be able to convince him to stay.

Wenger was involved in a bust-up with star player Alexis Sanchez last week.

The Chile international was then dropped for the clash with Liverpool on Saturday.

But it's claimed some other players are fiercely loyal to Wenger and could request transfers if the experienced manager moves on.

Wenger has come under even more pressure from the fans this term.

The Premier League giants have faltered in the title race.

And they are out the Champions League having been battered 10-2 on aggregate by Bayern Munich.

Juventus chief Max Allegri has been hotly tipped to take over from Wenger if he does depart.

Allegri has an impressive record in Turin but has recently fallen out with a number of senior players.

Last season he led Juve to Serie A and Coppa Italia glory.

In 2015 he also guided his side to the Champions League final - but they lost 3-1 to Barcelona.

Last night could be Wenger's final taste of European action with Arsenal.

His team were battered by Bayern Munich in the second-leg of their Champions League tie.

Arsenal went ahead through Theo Walcott but another collapse ensured a second 5-1 defeat to the Bundesliga champions.

Buhari Muhammad to undergo another penis transplant.

Nine-month-old Buhari Muhammad, whose genital was cut off by his step-mother in June 2016, would undergo his next surgery, a penis transplant, when he reaches puberty.

we recall that Muhammad had his first corrective surgery at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Bida, Niger, in February.

Suleiman Makusidi, the Head of Medical Unit of the state Child Rights Protection Agency, made the discloure on Tuesday.

According to him, “When the boy reaches puberty and when blood has started flowing through his penis, a transplant will be carried out; the transplant will be carried out either in Nigeria or abroad.

“The corrective surgery that was done in February was to reopen the hole that was created for the boy to pass urine after it was discovered that the hole was closing back.“The urinary passage, which was created like that of the female, is a temporary one to enable him pass urine.’’

“The state government is making arrangements on how to bring medical experts to examine the boy and see if the transplant can be done in Nigeria. If not, we will look at other options like South Africa or the U.S.

“We are hoping that the transplant will be successful and that it will help his reproductive system because his testicles were cut off alongside his penis; only one testicle was left,” he said.

According to Makusidi, Muhammad will use his penis effectively after a successful transplant.

Muhammad’s genital was cut off by his 17-year-old step mother, Bara’atu Muhammad, when the boy was barely a month old.

The incident occurred in Dafe community in Shiroro Local Government area of Niger in June 2016.
The step-mother had confessed that she took the action because she was jealous and she also wanted to get back at the victim’s mother whom she claimed was always insulting her.

Stop missile tests so talks can get started – China tells N’Korea

China has called on North Korea to stop testing ballistic missiles like the four that landed in the Sea of Japan earlier this week.
Beijing also said the US and South Korea should end the joint military drills that anger Pyongyang and seek talks instead.
North Korean state media said the launches of the four banned missiles were training for an attack on a US base in Japan.
Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi said the North’s tests and the joint drills were causing tension to increase like two “accelerating trains coming toward each other”.
Mr Wang asked: “Are the two sides really ready for a head-on collision?
“China’s suggestion is, as a first step, for North Korea to suspend nuclear and missile activities, and for the US and South Korea to also suspend large-scale military drills,” he added.
US policy has for many years been that the North must abandon its nuclear weapons programme before full discussions can take place.
Donald Trump’s new administration reacted to the latest missile launches by starting to deploy its THAAD anti-missile system to its ally South Korea.
China objects to THAAD as its radar can penetrate into its territory and its says its presence on the Korean peninsula upsets the regional security balance.
Mr Wang suggested that the North’s suspension of its nuclear and missile activities and the US and South Korea’s halting of their military exercises could help defuse the growing crisis.
He said the “suspension-for-suspension can help us break out of the security dilemma and bring the parties back to the negotiating table”.
“Holding nuclear weapons won’t bring security, using military force won’t be a way out. There remains a chance of resuming talks, there is still hope for peace,” he added.
China is North Korea’s largest trading partner and holds some influence over Pyongyang.
It has already suspended all coal imports from North Korea for the rest of the year.
