Market Share Falls Below 1%, So Is This The End of Windows Phone?

I stil remeinber, Windows was once the most popular devices, windows OS dominated the mobile market… and everyone was loving windows phones. But something happened; Microsoft sold their future devices to Fox connand unintentionally rumored bowing out of the smartphone market the way Blackberry gave in to pressure.

Most windows mobile users are already moving to Android OS. Android currently has the largest dominance followed by iOS then others. According to Gartners mobile sales report, Microsoft saw windows phone market crippled and dwindles to 0.7% which represent 2.4Million windows devices sold in the last quarter of all 349.2 million devices shipped.

Even the former god father Nokiawho recently announced their return, are not coming on Windows platform, but wholeheartedly embracing Android OS.
Windows mobile OS has failed the city; failed its users because Microsoft hasn’t really given consumers something to make it a worthy mobile platform. This is just a tip of the iceberg, the end of Windows phone is here and nothing can stop it.

It is battle to the finish as Nigerian Army today stormed Niger Delta in 4 warships to confront and battle Niger Delta Avengers.
The Nigerian Army earlier today invaded Oporoza looking for militants belonging to the now dreaded Niger Delta Avengers. According to SaharaReporters, the military came in 4 warships to confront the militants.

This is not surprising as the Avengers have been bombing oil installations across the Niger Delta as they insisted that they want autonomy.

However, President Muhammadu Buhari has decided to confront them by sending the military to crush the militants.



But, so far, it has not worked. How the latest move will go so far is yet to be seen as elders in the Niger Delta have warned the president of not escalating issues by using military against the militants which they believe will only incense them the more.

Finally MTN Launches Digital TV Services

MTN Nigeria has taken a move forward by launching its first ever complete converged broadcast and OTT-VOD service… which means that Nigerians could now watch TV programmes on their smartphones and other devices via Over-the-Top platforms like WhatsApp, BlackBerry Messenger, Facebook and Twitter, among others.

News from the Chief Executive Officer, (CEO) MTN Nigeria,subscribers will have the freedom to watch their favourite programmes when they choose the MTN Video-on-Demand service, “rather than having to watch at a specific broadcast time.”

…“Once we commence full commercial activities, the TV service will deliver an exciting bouquet of rich local and international content to Nigerians”. MTN Nigeria announced the launch of the pilot of its digital television broadcasting service in Jos, Plateau State, on Wednesday and it went live yesterday.

You’ll recall that MTN was issued with the 700MHz spectrum licence last year by the NBC, which is a digital broadcast licence that will enable MTN Nigeria deliver broadcasting services, along side its core data and voice service delivery in a globally converged economy.

It was just like an horror scene from a scary movie, stumbling on a body snoring away on a pedestrian bridge few metres away from Kubwa Garage. As if that was not enough, the snoring fellow was gorgeously cladded in the highly revered NYSC outfit.
Upon waking him up, the horror story he narrated will exhaust several pages.
Is it not unfathomable that fresh graduate of one of Nigeria's ivory tower has been rendered homeless in the course of serving his fatherland? To further add salt to his injury, he was outrightly rejected by the government parastatal he was posted to for no concrete reason.

To further exacerbate his predicament, the unfortunate young Nigerian graduate is battling with pneumonia. This is to serve as a wake up call to our policy makers to holistically review the NYSC Acts. Also, as a short term solution, we hereby call upon every well meaning Nigerian to come to the aid of Abuja corp members before the untold stress impinged on innocent corps members exceeds yield point.

PayPal users on Windows Phone will no longer be able to use the current version of the app on June 30, the company has announced.PayPal has confirmed plans to "sunset" the app on that date, recommending that users turn to PayPal through their mobile browser.

However, Windows Phone users can still access PayPal through our mobile web experience on Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge browsers. Outlook.com users can also use the PayPal add-in to send money directly from their inbox.
The move comes as PayPal announced new upgrades to its Android and iOS apps. Curiously, PayPal specified that the "sunset" applies to the current version of the PayPal app. While it would be folly to read too far into that, it's possible that a new version of the app could make its way to users down the road.
For now, however, you'll have to begin preparing to perform all of your PayPal functions through your mobile browser.
