Griezmann Fires Les Bleus into Euro final

A brace from Atletico Madrid forward, Antoine Griezmann earned hosts, France a place in the final of this year's European Championship as they defeat World Champions Germany 2:0 in a semi-final match on Thursday.

Germany dominated the majority of the first 45 minutes but fell behind to Griezmann's penalty at the end of the first half.

Bastian Schweinsteiger handled the ball in the box after a corner kick from France with Referee Nicola Rizzoli pointing to the spot and the Manchester United midfielder getting a caution.

France came out smoking in the second half and after consistent pressure on the opponents, doubled their lead in the 72nd minute when Griezmann pounced on a loose ball to fire home from 12 yards.

Griezman now lead the goal chart with six goals.

Germany will feel cheated after being denied their own legitimate penalty earlier in the match when Toni Kroos was upended in the box by Paul Pogba.

The Germans made efforts to level proceedings but the French defence was solid while Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris made smart saves to see France through to the final.

France will now face Portugal in the final match on Sunday in Paris.
