A DHL cargo jet plane slid off a runway at the Bergamo airport in Italy and crashed on to a busy road.
The jet, which had flown from Paris in France, crushed barriers as it came to a halt in front of stunned motorists who were driving past the airport.
Emergency crews at the airport rushed to the scene of the crash at around 4am and no one was reported to have been hurt. Authorities said the airport was closed after the incident but was later reopened.
