A middle-aged suspect, Charles Ibeleme, has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a teenager in the Mushin area of Lagos State.
Before his arrest, a mob had already descended on him with beatings and in his defense, he claimed that the economic hardship currently ravaging the country pushed him into crime.
The suspect who also blamed President Buhari for his predicament, was caught after he used a face towel to hypotize a young boy. Ibeleme was about leading the victim away when residents who knew the boy raised an alarm and the suspect was nabbed before he could escape.
When the beating he received became too much, he kept screaming: "It is Buhari o. It is Buhari o. There is no money in town."
He would have been set ablaze but for the timely arrival of the police who whisked him away.
