The Lagos State Police Command have apprehended a 20-year-old armed robbery suspect identified as Ebere Nwankwo, who robbed and raped his male victim in Lagos.
Nwankwo reported attacked and raped the man identified as Martins, in the Lekki area of the state, before dispossessing him of the sum of N22,000.
Nwankwo who was armed with a gun, sneaked into Martins’ apartment in Goshen Estate in the Lekki area at about 4pm on Thursday, September 29, 2016, where he ransacked the victim’s room and found N22,000.
Nwankwo who wasn't satisfied with the sum, ordered the victim at gunpoint to strip and lay on the bed where he forcefully had anal sex with him.
The victim's screams drew the attention of policemen who were patrolling the area. The operatives from the Maroko Police Division, forced themselves into the apartment upon hearing the screams and caught the suspect red-handed.
According to a police source, "The robber had threatened to force his victim to an Automated Teller Machine, where he would get more money from him. In the meantime, the suspect asked his victim to lie on the bed and he started having sexual intercourse with him.
"Some policemen, who were patrolling the estate, heard screams from an apartment and they drew close. When they forced the door open, the suspect and the victim were found having anal sex.”
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Dolapo Badmos, while confirming the incident said, the suspect confessed he was raping the man to get magical powers.
Badmos said, "The suspect has confessed to the crime. He said the sexual intercourse was to make his victim forget about the stealing. We will charge him to court with sodomy and stealing."
She further added that he suspect would be charged to court with sodomy and stealing.
